RETURN OF DOCUMENTS ROD Timeframe???

Post by DanielMaw » Thu Jun 01, 2017 2:29 pm

Hello all,

Just after some help regarding the timeframe of getting my documents back after I have withdrawn my application. I applied to leave to remain, but then have been told it will be 6 months, and I cannot sit around and wait this long. I withdrew my application on the 16th of May, I have since done the follow up "progress" enquiry 10 working days later, that was yesterday being the 31st of May. I have received nothing in my emails/calls/letters or anything indicating that the request has been acknowledged, although it states when you submit it that you will receive an email notifying you that the request has been submitted. Obviously I am super frustrated as I am in the dark right now and I just want to go back to Australia as this process has been such a joke.

So does anyone have any sort of knowledge on the timeframe of getting your documents back once withdrawing an application? Is their any notification from anyone? Or am I just sitting here waiting and then it just shows up? Please, anyone with any information come forward....Thanks for your time!

Dan :-)

The way in which the Home Office deals with these applications is an absolute disgrace. They obviously believe they can treat honest citizens with complete contempt. This would be unacceptable anywhere outside the most corrupt banana republic. It's high time these unaccountable bureaucrats were exposed to public scrutiny, if not by elected MP'S, then by the media. As usual it needs a groundswell of organised opinion to shift their political bosses - unless, of course, this signifies yet another desperate attempt by a flailing government to manipulate the immigration figures.

I have still received nothing in the mail/email/calls. The worst thing of all, was that when I applied it clearly states that they would reach a decision with 8 weeks. And you cannot question the timeframe of the application until the 8 weeks passes. So quick to take my money as well. Now every time I ring them, they tell me the same thing. Wait 10 working days, then do the progress enquiry, then do it again after 10 days....repeat, repeat....Like how hard is it to have a solid database system so that you can give accurate timeframes/information for people. It would save them so much time in enquiries if it was all logged and available for people to see and track. Since then I have made at least 5-6 calls, fired multiple emails everywhere (no replies also) and submitted a dozen withdrawal requests. So the paper trail from just myself is pretty large. All they have to do is have a proper database system and keep the people informed. After all, I paid 900 odd pounds for the application itself, where is this money going? And they have the nerve to sting you another 500 pound if you want a quicker decision. These people are playing god in a way through a monopolised circus. Its out of control. If you cannot handle a simple application of an Australian chef with a British parent wanting to move here, then how will you handle leaving the E.U with all the immigration needs then?? Very grim.

If anyone is waiting on documents, please update me here, as I am still waiting for mine...... :(

Hi Daniel,

Just wondering what the outcome was and how long it took for you to get your documents back? We are in a similar situation and very frustrated. Did you end up receiving an email/call or did the documents just end up being returned?

Would be great to get an update.

Cheers
