Hi all,
I'm trying to understand the entire application process workflow because I will be travelling quite a lot in between these steps and want to ensure that I don't miss anything important.
I did my legwork and here is the result. Can you please see any potential pitfalls in this process?
Step 1
Submit a joint AN and passport applications via JCAP scheme using Nationality checking service (NCS).
After appointment, I can keep my passport and BRP and can travel until step 2.
Step 2
2-6 weeks after step 1.
Submit biometrics at Post Office within 15 working days after receiving a letter (plus an extension for 10 days in case of delay)
After biometrics submission, I can keep my passport and BRP and can travel until step 3.
Step 3
2-6 months after step 2.
Receive an invitation to the citizenship ceremony.
Book ceremony within 21 days after receiving invitation and attend ceremony within 90 days.
Receive certificate of British citizenship after the ceremony.
Return BRP to the Home Office within 5 days.
Receive British passport within 1-2 weeks by DX courier delivery.
Concern: I will need to travel again a few days after citizenship ceremony and I can't wait for passport to be delivered. I won't have BRP or UK passport yet, but I will have my first passport that I can travel on. My wife will receive my UK passport in London and send it to me by Fedex. When I get back to the UK, I will re-enter the country using my new UK passport.
Have I missed or misunderstood any steps? Will appreciate comments from immigration gurus.
