Child Passport Renewal, One Parent British: Letter from HO ?

Post by user_name » Mon Jun 05, 2017 4:36 pm

Hi,

I am British.
My wife is Indian and in the UK.
My child (under 5) is Indian and in the UK.
My child's passport is going to expire, so need to renew within UK.

http://www.vfsglobal.com/india/uk/NEW_I ... rt.html#12 says ==> "If either of the parents holds a foreign nationality, then a letter from the concerned Embassy or Mission of that country or from the concerned UK authority (in case of British national) stating that the child has not acquired nationality of his / her parent would be required."

I spoke with VFS and they said that they need a letter from the Home Office stating that the child has not acquired nationality of his parent.

Would anyone kindly advice the procedure to get this type of letter from Home Office please?
How to contact / apply to Home Office to get such type of letter?
Has anyone done this before please?

Many Thanks.

Hi,

My child has got his new passport. Thank you for your help.

He has his BRP valid for next 2 years. Do we need to inform Home Office now regarding his new passport?

Many Thanks.
