Tier2 ICT pre 2011 extension to get ILR

I got tier2 ICT established staff long term visa in Oct 2010. After that i got 3 extensions
(each time 2 years). Now I am in UK for last 7 years and my employer want to extend VISA again in Oct 2017. Now i need 3 year extension to complete my 10 years residence with which i can apply for ILR. Can i apply for 3 year extension on tier2 long term staff or I have to apply for 2 years and again 1 year to be eligible for ILR application?

Entirely up to you and your employer on whether you need a 1 or 3 year extension
