Application for Tier 2 outside of UK

Hi

I'm currently on a valid youth mobility visa until September and need to leave the UK to return to my native Canada and apply for a Tier 2 General visa from there. I have a restricted COS assigned to me and have the right number of points.

I'm in the process of completing the application form from visaforuk online and would like to submit it ASAP in order to make my appointment at the visa service centre in Toronto. I am planning to travel back to Canada at the beginning of August so want to make sure I book an appointment as soon as I can. My question is, can I submit the online application early, from within the UK? One of the questions is about my last visit to the UK and I need to enter an Arrival and Leave date, but the Leave date can't be in the future. Do I put today's date and submit the application now, or do I need to wait until I'm back in Canada before I can submit and risk not getting an appointment for a while??
