VISITORS VISA FOR A CHILD

Post by jennyelly » Thu Jun 08, 2017 11:57 pm

Hi

My husband and I jointly applied for a visitor visa for his daughter to visit the UK from Jamaica for a period of one month and 19 days. This was submitted on 17th May 2017 and we received the decision on 2nd June 2017.The visa was denied for two reasons relating to V 4.11 and V 4.12 of the immigration rules. We believe that we can satisfy both these requirements and therefore plan to submit a new application in as soon as possible.

Regarding V 4.11 - we supplied 6 month bank statements for both of us,6 months payslips, confirmation of employment for both us.

The wording of the refusal is rather odd as it seems to refer solely to my husband's finances "I note you have provided evidence of your father's employment and funds. Whilst I acknowledge your father's bank letter (I assume the ECO means bank statement) demonstrates a positive balance, I am not satisfied these funds are sufficient to cover your travel and expenses whilst in the UK, as well as their day to day needs" - do I assume they have not taken my earnings/bank statements into consideration (my monthly income is much higher than my husband's) or that perhaps they have overlooked the "joint sponsorship" because it has not been made clear to them by us?

As previously stated we plan to submit a new joint sponsorship application straight away, however there is a fundamental change of circumstances as I have recently been made redundant and will be receiving a large lump sum settlement around 15th June 2017.

Should we omit (or still include) the submission of previous documentation related to my employment but then add e.g the redundancy letter with the illustration of the settlement, along with updated bank statements showing that this has been paid into my account, and final payslip, update the date on any letters (is this really necessary ?(e.g mother's confirmation related to travel and care in the UK) and add a confirmation of joint sponsorship letter. Is there anything I may have missed?

The original travel date was for 10th July, which may be unrealistic given the average processing time of 15 days. Should we change this date or leave as is?

We can easily satisfy V 4.12 related to care and accommodation with the title deeds to my house and perhaps a council tax bill or similar and a covering letter.

I would appreciate any advice at the earliest given the timescales involved.

Thanks a lot! :)
