Tier 2 ICT Dependent to Student Visa

I have come to UK with my family in the month of April, 2012 with Tier2 ICT migrant visa. My son has come with me as a PBS dependent and have been studying in UK since then. He is currently doing sixth form and need to join to go to university in the next 2 years. My visa will expire in the middle of his university education. Could you please let me know the options for him to continue the university education? Is it required for him to move back to our home country(India) before applying for university and come back with Tier 4 visa ? Appreciate your valuable thoughts.
