Comprehensive sickness insurance

Post by Anna11th » Mon Jun 12, 2017 11:11 am

Hi everyone
I hope someone can clear this for me....
Well the story is that I would like to apply for permanent residency as an self sufficient person - as am married to British citizen and the moment full time mother - and have been for the past 6 years.

I can prove I have been living here but the only thing I found out that is probably will stop my application that I should have Comprehensive Sickness Insurance.
To be honest I never knew that I had to have it and found out only now.
So my question is - can I buy this insurance now and apply for PR or I had to have it for the past 5 years ?
If so ... then it means all these years won't be counted and I have to start from zero.

And one more question - I am married to a British citizen - is there a way I can apply for British passport through spouse way without getting permanet residency?

Thank you

No. PR (or ILR) is mandatory for BC even though your husband is British. You will only be able to apply for a British passport once you have been granted citizenship.
