Working Remotely in UK

Post by embordy » Sat Jun 17, 2017 5:19 am

Hello All,

I am hoping someone can help me sort what I need for my situation:

I am planning to stay in the UK for 3 months and work remotely for a Canadian company. I am wondering if I will require a VISA to do this work if I am not accepting any additional work whilst staying there.

If you have any guidance or can point me in the direction of someone who might know the rules on this, please let me know!

Thank you so much :D

Yes.

Work is work and tax is due where the work is done, so HMRC will want their slice of the pie. And for that you'd need to be registered with HMRC, and/or your company will most likely need to operate local PAYE, plus for all this you'll need a work visa, for which you company will need to be a licensed UK sponsor for in the UK.
