Extending Student Visa

Post by Skrr » Mon Jun 19, 2017 8:07 am

Hi,

I am a tier 4 visa holder currently undergoing my MSc programme and my visa expires in January 2018. Most universities have their graduation ceremonies before the visas of the students expire, but that is not the case with my Uni. My graduation ceremony is in April 2018 which means I would have to go back to my home country then apply for another visa (visitors visa most likely) in order to attend my graduation ceremony. My dad is resident here in the UK and my stepmom is a citizen here in the UK. Is it possible to extend my student visa up until the end of April 2018 seeing as I have a place to stay (with my parents)??

Thanks

No.

You might want to look into whether you have any basis on which to stay on the basis of your parents being in the UK, but this would not be anything to do with Tier 4. As you say, otherwise it would be a Standard Visitor visa.
I do not give immigration advice. I refer you to Immigration Rules, guidance, other online content and to your sponsor.
