Deportation from UK - Re-entry advice into EU

Post by anonymous786 » Wed Jun 21, 2017 12:26 pm

Hello to all, first I apologise if I have written this in the wrong forum, as its slightly tricky and time consuming having to try and do it all from my phone!

Anyways, here goes... I was deported from the UK (1st Jan 2015) after being convicted for an offence of ABH resulting in an 18month prison sentence. I had however been legally living in the UK since 1994 but just never got round to being naturalised, silly I know!

My main question here is that I have my British fiancé and we have a daughter together, she has come out 3 times already this year but it is very costly (Mauritius) but we were thinking of maybe spending time together as a family in France, as...

1. We also have a house there
2. Mauritian passport holders do not need a visa/visa on arrival into France

So will this basically mean that I can go from here directly to France, hand my passport over, pointing to my wife & baby over the other side saying just here on a family visit. OR will they do checks for an entry clearance regardless AND if so will they most likely put me on a plane back after me answering all the questions truthfully..?

Please note my last conviction is now 5yrs ago as I have been here almost 3yrs never been arrested and was also fighting my deportation for some 2yrs before finally giving up

I could just risk it all and pay the ticket of £800 and find out for myself, however its money we don't ideally have to throw around and it would be much appreciated and helpful to get some advice at least to give us a better understanding before going for it.

I thank you all in advance and really looking forward to some helpful advice and maybe hopefully some good news!

PLEASE NOTE: I am solely going for the less than 90days every 180days rule, not living there as any more would mean a visa application etc and mainly because us being here for a month together costs in excess of £2000 so its more of a reason for us to be together longer until I can formally start applying for the revocation of my DO. Thanks again
