visit to tier 2 visa

Hi
I have a visit visa expiring on Aug 2019. I applied for a tier 2 visa and my work starts Oct 1st, can I still be able to enter UK using my visit visa before october ar does it become invalid as I get a tier 2 visa?

It becomes invalid as you are unable to hold two visas at the same time in different categories.

In any event, if the Tier 2 application is still under consideration (or approved) the IO at the point of entry would be aware that you aren't entering as a genuine visitor as this would flag up on the UKVI system. :idea:
