Financial requirement enquiry (paid by cheque)

Post by Blitheringking » Sun Jun 25, 2017 3:18 pm

Hi guys,

I have a conundrum which I hope someone can help me out with.

I will be applying for my wife's FLR in September.
Her initial visa expires on 30/09/17 and I believe I am correct in thinking we will need to apply within 28 days of the expiry date.

Now my issue is that I work two jobs, my first job pays straight into my bank at the end of the month and my second job provides a cheque at the end of the month.

I believe that I am right in thinking that the final payslip cannot be more than 30 days older that the application.

Regarding the second job, If my last payslip and cheque before application is provided on 31/08/17, it means that I will deposit the cheque in the bank in the beginning of September, this means that I would have had the payslip but would not be able to provide the final bank statement showing the final deposit because Septembers statement would only become available at the beginning of October.

What would you advise me to do in this situation?
I hope it made sense.

Thanks.

The most recent payslip/s must be no older than 28 days on the date of application. Your wife can apply for her FLR(M) extension no earlier than 28 days before the expiry date, or any time between then up until the expiry date.

Therefore you should be able to time the application enabling you to submit the bank statement issued at the beginning of October.

Thank you for your reply, but I still have not grasped at what your solution is.
The visa expires on 30/09/17, so I would need to apply before then, so how would I be able to submit the bank statement for October?

Is it worth pointing out that I will most likely be applying in person?

Thanks.

You won't be submitting the September/October statement...you'll submit the last payslip that you are issued at the beginning of August together with the previous five payslips and the corresponding bank statements.

That is correct, so If we submit the 6 payslips and only 5 statements, is there likely to be a problem?

You can go into a branch of your bank and ask them to print & stamp a statement showing the entry of your most recent payslip as soon as the cheque has cleared.
