Sponsoring my Grandmother for a UK visit from India.

Post by NS85 » Mon Jun 26, 2017 12:42 am

Hello All,

Firstly I would like to apologies for any stupid questions I may ask.

As the Subject states, I would like to sponsor my maternal Grandmother from India to Visit UK for approx 4 moths as my wife is pregnant, I would like my grandmother whom i'm very close with to join us for the family functions etc and be present here when the baby is born.

Details about myself: British Passport holder, own a house, have a permanent job, I will be paying for all the expenses (flights, living costs etc).

Can anybody please point me out to the right direction with some guidelines etc as this is will be the first time I'm sponsoring anybody and it will be a great help.

Thanks alot in advance.

Sponsoring a visitor is just one aspect.
The applicant will need to provide substantial documentation to prove their family ties, financial stability in their home country. The case worker could look for the below information:
-Does she have any income?
-Does she have any funds as fixed deposits/bank accounts
-If she has no income/bank statement and is a dependent, she will need to provide additional documentation on who is supporting her and their financial wellbeing
-Any property documents on her name?
-Does she have close relatives in home country to prove family ties. Does she live with someone?
Any suggestions I make in the forum are out my personal experience and should not be taken as a legal/professional advise.
