Unmarried partner cohabitation - anybody can help me pls?

Post by minkimuk » Tue Jun 27, 2017 1:27 am

Hi,

I'm from South Korea working with Tier 2 visa and my partner is British, planning to apply for unmarried partner visa soon.
Basically we have got all the requirements,
1. Relationship proof for the last 4 years - Pics, Holiday tickets, emails, messages..
2. Both earns over £18,600 per year
3. English B2 level less than 2 years ago
4. Proof that we will live together after - Tenancy agreement
5. Tenancy agreements, bills, letters, council tax, joint bank account that have both names on them for the last 2 years.

Just only thing I'm not sure about is that we have only "lived" together on weekends for the last year as my partner's company moved him to Cambridge branch for the 1 year of training, and I stayed in London for my job. He's coming back in September and we will rent a new house to live together. We will apply for it once we get to live together again.

The immigration rule says;
the parties have been living together in a relationship akin to marriage or civil partnership which has subsisted for two years or more;

I'm wondering if this covers our circumstance. My all official address(payslips etc) is in Cambridge, same as my partner's. Our both names are on the bills and the tenancy agreement, I have collected train/coach tickets for visiting my partner on almost every weekends.

Can anyone who has had/heard similar situation please give me some advice? Thanks in advance for your responses.
