Tier 2 to ILR

Post by sameer111 » Tue Jun 27, 2017 10:53 pm

Hi
I have come to UK on Tier 2 General this year. I am on an yearly contract renewable every year and I am married to British citizen for the last 14 years. We were living together outside uk and moved along with two children both with British citizenship.

When will I be eligible to apply for ILR/PR as my wife and children are british. We both are earning well and are not claiming or planning to claim any benefits.

Please help.

To get ILR you need 5 years as PBS migrant under Tier 2. You also have the option to switch to FLR(M) which removes all Tier 2 related employment restrictions but you still need 5 years on that visa too for ILR. After getting ILR however, you can immediately apply for citizenship as your wife is British.
