If Tier 4 Doctorate Extension Visa Refused

Hi All,

My Tier 4 visa expires on 31/07/2017 and I have applied for the doctorate extension visa on 5/5/2017. I am yet to receive a decision after 8 weeks. I have also received a job offer who are also willing to sponsor me on Tier 2. I have few issues to clarify and hope you all can help.

1. If my doctorate visa is refused and I receive the decision after my visa is expired (Assume 10/08/2017), do I need to leave the country immediately or do I get a chance to apply in another category, such as in Tier 2.

1. Assuming I receive the visa refusal on 28/07/2017, I would only have 3 days to my visa expiration. Do I have a grace period under Tier 4 to stay beyond the expiry date and submit a fresh application under Tier 2?

2. Assuming I receive the visa refusal on 10/08/2017, and I leave the country and apply under Tier 2 to enter UK. Does this break my continuous stay to apply for 10 year ILR.

Applications are not refused for random or unexpected reasons. If you met the eligibility, the leave will be granted.

Are you saying you applied knowing that you did not meet the eligibility in some way?
