I am a dual-national (USA/UK) ordinarily living in the USA. I plan to go to a UK university for a Masters programme in the fall, but there seem to be no immigration options for my American wife (she does not have dual-nationality) to join me during my course of study. She could come over for up to six months as a visitor, but is this her only option?
Here are the two options that we ruled out:
1. A 'family of a settled person visa' requires a permanent address, which I do not have yet. I only plan to be there for the year long programme and don't have housing yet. We have the funds for the visa, it's just the address thing.
2. If I were not a UK national, this would be a simple thing: I get a Tier-4 Student Visa and she is my dependent. But as a UK national, I am not eligible for this.
