Tier 4 switch to Tier 2 Dependent inside UK

Post by maqianhhkb » Fri Jun 30, 2017 9:25 am

Hello everyone, currently I am holding a Tier 4 student visa, which will be expired within one month. My husband currently is working with a Tier 2 (general) visa, and I am going to switch my visa to Tier 2 dependant. However, after I searching online, I am really confused which form I need to fill, there is one form: Family members of Tier 2(general) Visa: https://visas-immigration.service.gov.u ... nt-partner. The description is:"Apply to extend or switch your visa or leave to remain as the spouse, civil partner, unmarried partner or same-sex partner of a Tier 1, 2 or 5 worker or Tier 4 student.", which looks the right one. But when I start "Apply now" online, and start filling the forms, there is a quite wierd question: Your current immigration status: Are you currently a dependant of a points based migrant? I selected "No" as currently I am holding a Tier 4 student visa which is not a dependant of a point based migrant, and then I got a warning "You cannot use this service to apply for leave to remain. This service is only for people who are dependants of a points based migrant".
