Documents to submit when applying for Spouse visa?

Hi All,

Me my partner are planning to get married later this year. She is Argentinian but lives in the Balearic islands (Spain) and holds residency there. (I'm a British citizen)

We are looking at the 'Family Members of British Nationals and Settled Persons’ to apply for once we get married abroad so she will be applying as my Spouse. She will need to apply for this in Madrid in Mainland Spain.

Question:

I understand she will need to submit her passport which will be held whilst the decision process takes place (up to 60 days). Will she need to submit her residency card too? I'm hoping not as she needs this to travel between Mainland Spain (the application office) and home in the Balearic islands (Spain).
