Yeah! Weird, isn't it? This has happened once, but not anymore till yesterday, which was totally weird. But obviously, they don't know what to do when it comes to EUFAM people.broli wrote:Hi
All this happened in ireland ?
that's weird they never stamp my passport for 5 year may be something new started
I think so too! We should definitely make a complaint about this. They're treating us the way they want to. They never follow the EU rules!Alixlboy wrote:I would suggest that we should all complain against this sort of behaviour. I have heard it from a couple of other people as well, that they have started to treat Stamp 4 EU FAM holders in a very bad manner and if we don't do anything, this will continue to happen.
Hi Max,max307 wrote:I think you are making an issue out of nothing here and please do not take it personal, just trying to give you my opinion.
Issue 1 – The fact that an immigration officer at his or her own discretion allowed you to use the EU queue before when travelling with your EU partner does not grant you any right to use that queue as you wish to do so. The rules are clear, EU queue for EU passport holders and Non-EU queue for Non-EU passport holders, it is not written anywhere that if you hold certain visa or residence and travelling with your EU spouse you can use a queue or the other one. I would advise you the use the Non-EU queue that is the one you should be using if entering Ireland with a Non-EU passport.
Issue 2 – Any reason why you don’t want to get your passport stamped when entering the country? If you are planning to complain to every country that enforces that rule you are going to have a big task ahead of you. Are you able to enter or leave Schengen countries where you passport is not stamped?
Exactly! That's my point. We need to start complaining about this, they need to follow EU and Irish law and not what they want. They are immigration officers not even Gardai anymore.Alixlboy wrote:I think we simply need more clarity. There has to be clear rules and they must be communicated clearly with the immigrants. If some of them are treated in one way and others in the other way, this will obviously be wrong, as all immigration officer must follow the EU rules. I have been on stamp 4 for nearly 5 years, and some times my passport is stamped and sometimes it s not and it obviously makes no sense.
