Currently I am on Tier 2 (General) and I have moved my job internally at work.
I am still employed by the same department of the sponsoring company, with the same job code. The only thing different is that my job title has changed somewhat to reflect the change in focus of my work.
I don't think the HR has put a sponsor's note on my COS about it because they are generally quite bad with visa related things.
When it is time for my extension, would it cause a problem if HO sees that I have a different job title, even if the sponsor and job code remains the same?
Thanks

Your HR must notify UKVI through the SMS reporting task. It is a change in your circumstances so it must be reported. Your HR will report the change of job title and also emphasise that the new job title is under the same SOC code of your last job title. They might also need to report any change in salary if applicable. UKVI will contact your sponsor if they are not satisfied that your new job title has the same SOC as your previous role. Updating your information now also means that UKVI is aware of your new job title before you extend your visa.
There is no issue with having a new job title while extending your visa, the case worker might however be interested in when your title changed. If they find out that your job title changed and your sponsor failed to report it within the required time, your sponsor might be penalised. You don't want to take the risk.
If iyour HR does not know what to do, you can direct them to the appropriate tier 2 sponsor guidance. Make sure the change in job title is reported ASAP. It is your visa , don't let an ignorant HR create issues for you.
