My wife applied for ILR and we got a letter asking for her to take a LIUK Test (She's from the US and I didn't know she had to take one of these). It also asked for more documents proving we lived together between certain dates. However, we had no idea that it was from the home office and were out when it was delivered and weren't able to pick it up for a while. Because of this we didn't have enough time or money to book the test and get the documents we need and the deadline has expired. I called the home office and after being on hold for an hour they just said that all we can do is write a letter to the home office. Not very helpful.
Can anyone tell me how this will be dealt with and what will likely happen to our application?
Thanks in advance
