Cohabitation Evidence for ILR Application

Post by agnesmary » Mon Jul 17, 2017 1:01 pm

Hello Moderators,

I'm in the midst of preparing my SET(O) form for submission. Appreciate your feedback on cohabitation evidence for ILR.

Page 75 of SET(O) states that :
If you have a spouse or civil partner who is applying at the same time with you, please provide documentary evidence of cohabitation since you were last granted leave (up to a maximum of 2 years). Evidence provided should cover the whole period and be in the form of official letters or documents, addressed to yourself and your spouse.

Question 1:
Should I provide evidences proving 24 months worth of cohabitation? For example : 24 months of council tax

Question 2:
Must all evidences be in joint names?

Question 3:
How many types of evidences required?

Question 4:
Must they be original copies or printouts?

Thanking in advance for your valuable input.

There is a lot of leeway in this. If you look at the example of my successful application, you can see what I supplied. uk-tier-1-entrepreneur-visas/an-example ... 34487.html
In general:
- No minimum or maximum number of documents - just spread them out over the period. I started with the extension approval letter as my first evidence and an utility bill in the month before I applied as the last evidence.
- I am generally paperless, so had very little original evidence. So, I think I added another couple of documents that I had (lease agreement for example)
- They can be in joint or individual names. Obviously, you need twice the number of documents if they are in individual names.
- Yes, they have to be originals.
My comments are in no way meant to be advisory. I have no professional knowledge of immigration. These are based on my own experience, convictions and personal interpretation of publicly available information.
