Unmarried partner dependent

Post by V2017 » Mon Jul 17, 2017 3:04 pm

Hi everybody!

Me and my partner are getting ready to apply for unmarried partner dependent visa. I know that this visa is very complicated so I want to ask some advice on documents.

Before staring leaving together me and my partner have been dating each other for 2 months and traveled together for 2 weeks to Paris and Italy. We have known each other through our mutual friends from 2014. We have a lot of photos together, journeys together, photos on Instagram, flower delivery receipts, presents receipts, calling and texting each other etc.

We have changed 2 addresses in 2 years that we have been living together, from Oct 2015 till Nov 2017, so I understand we should provide documents for every 3-4 months living together for both addresses. We have some difficulties with 2015-2016 years as we did not really collected any post and just throw it away.

However, we managed to find for the period of Oct 2015-Sep 2016:

Sponsor visit to the dentist Oct 2015, Dec 2015
Dependent visit to a GP Nov 2015,Dec 2015, Jan 2016, March 2016
Sponsor visit to a vet clinic Mar 2016
Dependent visit to a dentist Apr 2016, June 2016
Sponsor visit to a GP Jul 2016
Dependent papers for surgery from hospital Jul 2016

But we visited different doctors so the papers are for each of us individually but mentioning the same address

We also have sponsor water and electricity bills for all months from October 2015 to Sep 2016, however they are under sponsor name only as we stayed in the property owned by sponsor and since that we didn't have any tenancy agreement

Unfortunately, we don't have any bank statements for that period.

Another year, when we moved to a new address in other city we have been carefully storing all the papers, so for the period of Sep 2016-Nov 2017 we have:

Sponsor and dependent tenancy agreement from Sep 2016 to Nov 2017
Sponsor GP visit Nov 2016 ( the same with dependent)
Sponsor and dependent visit for X-rays (on the same day and time) Dec 2016
Dependent Western Union money transfer pay slip Dec 2016
Dependent GP visit Jan 2017 ( the same with sponsor)
Dependent vet clinic visit Jan 2017
Sponsor and dependent doctor visit together for flu vaccine Feb 2017
Sponsor and dependent joint bank account contract from Apr 2017
Dependent money transfer Western Union May 2017
Sponsor and dependent joint bank account statement Jul 2017
Dependent letter from university Jul 2017
Numerous DHL deliveries on sponsor name
Sponsor and dependent joint insurance contract Jul 2017
In the upcoming months till Nov 2017 we will be able to take the bank statements, maybe some doctor or vet visits

The only thing is that the majority of papers were not send to us by post, but were handled to us when we were visiting the doctor, for example, stating the diagnosis ( or payment, or some other details) and mentioning our address, all of them are originals, signed and in some cases sealed on a headed paper.

Is that OK?

I don't know if that really matters, but we got engaged in Apr and are planning to marry in the upcoming spring 2018. As we have a lot of friends and relatives from different places we can't do that now as we need to plan everything. However, we already have a contract with a wedding planner, which is partially paid.
Moreover, dependent is enrolled with a university for a postgraduate course starting in Jan 2018.
Maybe that could show our plans for the future to the Home Office.

Thanks for any help!

The UKVI (or Home Office) aren't concerned about your future plans. The Case Worker will want to see documented evidence of a relationship 'akin to marriage' for a minimum of 24 months which would include shared finances, a joint tenancy/utility bills/Council tax etc throughout this period.

You need to convince them that you are more than two people who share the same property and visits to the dentist/GP/vet etc., doesn't prove anything more than you are living in the same property. As you're already well aware, this category of visa comes under a great deal of scrutiny.

Are you applying from within the UK and if so, which category of visa does your partner currently hold and when does it expire?
