Standard visitor visa - sponsor letter

Post by manprit13 » Mon Jul 17, 2017 9:39 am

Hi,
i am wondering if someone can help me out as i need to make sure that when we sponsor someone for a visitor visa to UK, the time period we mentioned on the sponsor letter-is the visitor can only stay in UK for that period of time?
Another question is when we fill the form for visitor visa we mention some specific date and time period like 2 or 3 weeks, is the visitor has to stick with those details to visit UK?

As i am gonna send a sponsor to my parents to visit some specific function over here that will stay for a week, so do they have to visit UK only for that period of time if we assume that is going to be September 18th, so they have to visit for that month or can they come in October or November?

I am really confuse please help me out.
Any help can be appreciable.

Thank You in advance.

Your visitor will be granted 6 months' leave to enter but next time he will be told that when he came this time he said originally that it was only (say) for 4 weeks but he stayed (say) for 4 months and this will be held against him. What you should do if your visitor wishes to stay longer than the time which he originally stated on his application and sponsor form is to contact the Home Office by recorded delivery to tell them that your visitor is remaining for an extra month. Again the downside is that if the visitor has stated that he has a business back home it will look a bit odd that he can leave it for say 4 weeks and then leave it for 8 weeks more. That might need some explaining should he apply for a visa on another occasion. i would suggest that the letter to the Home Office extending time might specify who is running the shop in the meantime and stress the reason for remaining in the UK such as not enough time in 4 weeks to meet the whole family living here.
