Hello,
I am an American citizen on a Tier 2 General visa in London. My fiance is an Indian passport holder living in Frankfurt. We have known each other for 5 years having both lived in China and have been officially together for 1.5 years. We have a significant amount of evidence of our relationship, as we travel to meet each other at either our respective homes or elsewhere on holiday at least bi-monthly, and we have spent a number of 1-2 week holidays together together. We also have the typical requirements of daily phone records, social media pictures together, numerous pictures of him with my family, etc.
He is a highly skilled executive at a global pharma firm, and would qualify for his own Tier 2 Visa. But given that a sponsorship requirement does reduce the number of potential opportunities, we are exploring the option of obtaining a dependent visa. He is looking to move to London in the next several months, and we would like to wait and have a proper wedding, rather than a rushed one for a visa. Thus, we are looking to understand if there is any way for me to obtain a dependent visa for an unmarried partner whom I have never lived with.
We are in a unique situation, having been in a long term, long-distance relationship, and are wondering if anyone has had success in obtaining an unmarried dependent visa without having lived together simply due to long distance.
Thanks!
