Tier 2 Confusion!! Help!!

Post by shaakahaari » Tue Jul 18, 2017 11:33 pm

Hi,

I'm currently on tier 4 visa and looking for sponsorship visa (tier 2). I have done BSc Engineering from Pakistan and MBA from a UK University. I'm applying for engineering jobs as it is my main education line. Is it possible that employer X can sponsor me engineering job based on my degree from Pakistan or it has to be related to my MBA as I did it from the UK? Because to get a tier 2, you need to have a UK degree.

Thanks

There is no such requirement that you need to have UK degree. You can have degree from any country.

Students in the UK can apply to switch to a Tier 2 (General), Tier 2 (Minister of Religion), or Tier 2 (Sportsperson) visa if they are in the UK on a Tier 4 or other type of student visa, and have gained one of the following qualifications from a licensed Tier 4 sponsor:

Bachelor's degree
Master's degree
Post Graduate Certificate in Education (PCGE)
Post Graduate Diploma of Education (PGDE)

What does that mean??

You have gained MBA from UK right? So you're eligible to switch to T2

apply for jobs.
If you get one, the benefit of mba is , the employer will not need to meet rlmt as u have finished a uk degree, and wont have to give ilets for applying tier 2.
It doesnt matter what job u get. You can work as a rocket scientist for what its worth, doesnt have to be what u studied.
