Text from Passport Office

Post by se18_billy » Wed Jul 19, 2017 12:46 pm

Hi

My nationality is British National Overseas, which doesn't give me the right of abode. I submitted my joint citizenship/passport application via NCS on 7th July. It was received by the HO on 10th July. Money was taken from my account on 14th July for my citizenship and 18th July for my passport application.

However, so far I haven't received the acknowledgement email/letter from the HO regarding my citizenship application (from what people have posted on their timelines, the email is usually sent a week after the receipt of the application). Strangely, this morning I received a text from the passport office saying:

We'll contact you by 09/08 if more info or an interview is required. If not, expect your passport by this date. No further update on progress will be given.

This sounds really strange to me as the date seems too soon to me. Does anyone else get the same message from the passport office upon receipt of the payment? Any chance they got confused with my BNO passport and thought I was just renewing my passport? Should I call them to get clarification?

This is a standard message from HMPO for "normal" applications - ignore it. You will receive your passport only after attending the ceremony.
This is just my opinion as a member of this forum and does not constitute immigration advice.
Please do not send me private messages asking for advice.
