UK born baby - Withdrawing registration at Indian embassy

Post by quirkymortal » Sun Jul 23, 2017 11:08 am

Hi,

As we know there are few developements regards to the Indain baby born in UK for the possible UK citizenship. there are set of clauses like the child have had never any other country's citizenship, must not have travelled india, no passport, and no birth registration at indian embasssy. I wondered, if there is any procedure to remove / withdraw my child's name from registration at indian embassy as 'indian child born in UK'...???? I am worried about this only as i cannot apply for further visa on my child's basis to continue staying in UK and applying citizenship. can anybody help how can i withdraw my registration from India high commission.

thanks

Do you mean that you wish to withdraw a registration that you have just submitted but that has not been actioned or do you mean that your child was successfully registered, but now you wish to unregister him/her?

If the former, speak to the relevant Indian diplomatic outpost (HCI/CGI Birmingham or Edinburgh).

If the latter, I am not convinced that you can un-register a child that has already been registered.

In either event, this is a question for the Other Countries forum, as it is about the registration or otherwise of a child with the Indian authorities.
