Does a CHILD Appellant have to attend First Tier Tribunal

Post by noneeadory » Sun Jul 23, 2017 7:56 pm

Hi there, need some urgent help.

My daughter and I are appellants (PR refused) and our Appeal Hearing is on 3rd August.

My daughter is 11 years old and does not want to attend - she is scared and worried and is now constantly in tears.

Of course I will be attending as will my niece (sponsor) and her husband (witness).

BUT DOES MY 11 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER HAVE TO ATTEND?

If she doesn't will that be a problem.

Would there be any consequences?

Thank you and best regards,
Dory

Child appellant don't need to attend, the adult parent or guardian can attend on their behalf. Judges don't tend to like children in court during hearing.

Thank you for your reply Obie,

I was hoping that was the case - you have made my mind easier.
