Hello, my husband is a British citizen and I am a non-EU spouse. We are currently living in Ireland, and while we love it here, we do want to return back to the UK before we start having kids. In Category A of the financial requirement, it states that when a citizen is working for six months abroad earning the required amount, he can apply for a spouse visa if he has an offer for work in the UK also meeting the requirement.
While this is still several months off for us (if we can make it work), I was just wondering how the financial requirement is converted from Euros to GBP? Right before we moved to Ireland, we checked my husband's annual salary of 21000 euros, and it was converting to just under the required amount, at roughly 18500 GBP. However, recently, we've noticed it has spiked in conversion to being around 18700-18800 GBP. Does his annual salary need to consistently be above 18600 GBP, as converted on a daily basis, for us to apply? Or does it only matter what it converts to when we apply? This is very confusing, and we'd like to know in advance if he needs to look for a higher paying job.
Thank you very much for any assistance you can offer.
