Employees Start & End Date- Monthly Hours

Post by hsbits » Wed Jul 26, 2017 1:21 am

Dear members,
I have few queries,
I have left 10 month for my extension and currently 3 employees are working

1. I got FPS from my account and there is no start date for any employee on FPS. Please advise can it be updated now or any alternative solution?

2. One of my employee is working 37.5 hours per week for last 15 months. We have his fixed annual salary around 20K. On his payslip, hours are not mentioned but only basic salary is mentioned with related tax deduction. Is it mandatory to mention his monthly hours on pay slip? My account says as he has fixed contract so hours does not apply. please advice.

3. Our business is services based. WE provide IT, Business and Education consultancy. On our AR one SIC code e.g management consultancy is mentioned. Do we need to mention all three services SIC or one is enough. please advice.
4. As I have mentioned my business nature above. please advice what sort of different business insurance we must have for our business? At the moment, I have only employer liability insurance.

Waiting for your kind feedback

Talk to your accountant, use a different FPS software if needed. But, you will need to submit FPS with the start date. No problem updating it.

There is no requirement for the hourly rate to be in the payslip. You will be providing the hourly rate in your application form, which the HO will use to calculate the number of hours.

It is not a direct requirement as per immigration rules. We have seen some cases where the CW seems to have used such things as part of the genuine entrepreneur test. I personally think it does not matter.

Again, business insurance has nothing to do with the immigration rules.
My comments are in no way meant to be advisory. I have no professional knowledge of immigration. These are based on my own experience, convictions and personal interpretation of publicly available information.

Dear marcnath
Thank you so much. If accountant use the same software, can he update now & resend to HMRC?
If yes, will it be fine or any issue?

Dear marcnath,

if employee is earning 20K annual with 37.5 hours per week. Should we mention his hourly rate 10.25 on application form?

If it is within the same tax year, there should be no problems. But if your accountant is not able to answer this, you should consider getting a new accountant.

I have found this site useful to calculate that http://www.thesalarycalculator.co.uk/hourly.php
