Newborn(British India) Visa Category

Post by deepak1984 » Mon Jul 31, 2017 3:01 pm

Hi Guys,

I couldn't find any recent topic related to the Indian visa category for British national, so I am posting a question here.

My situation: My newborn baby has got British passport, me and my wife holds Indian passport with ILR in the UK.

Question: Looking at the VFS UK site it is not clear what visa category should I apply to make an application to visit India with my baby for 6 months. The categories listed under their site are:
Tourist Visa
Business Visa
Urgent Business Visa
Employment Visa
Student Visa
Entry Visa
Longterm Long.htmlVisa (5 Years)
Conference Visa
Journalist Visa
Research Visa
Transit Visa
Medical Visa
Medical Escort Visa
Transfer of Visa

I believe the relevent category for me will be Entry Visa, but the description of this visa reads as "An Entry Visa is granted for a specific purpose (short term courses and unpaid internships) or other non-business related purposes. An Invitation letter is required from concerned organisation/authorities in India along with the letter from College/University for internships Visa is valid for three months to six months single entry. Members of the family of a person employed in India are also eligible for Entry visa. In the latter case, documents establishing the employment of the spouse along with a copy of his/her Employment visa must be attached. Valid for six months to one year stay with multiple entry.".

If I apply under this category, I am not sure if the relevent supporting document asked above will help my application.

Any help will be much appreciated.
