FLR (FP) private life

Post by Alfa_97 » Mon Jul 31, 2017 8:38 pm

Hello there guys, I have recently made a FLR (fp) application under private life in the U.K. I entered the U.K. At the age of 10 years old on dependent visa and I'm currently 19, however to meet half my life in the U.K. Ruling I will have to wait until I'm 21. But I have applied under the rule that I have spent less than 20 years in the U.K. And have no ties back home.

I've applied on the basis spending nearly half my life in the U.K., and also due to the fact that I've established a private life in the U.K. As I've attended primary school, secondary school and college and have also achieved excellent grades and have pending uni offers. And the fact that I've not lived it visited my home for the past 9 years. And also to the degree of ties and relationships I have formed in the UK and also Have no cultural ties or any sort of relationships back home.

Just wanted to ask what are the chances of being granted to leave to remain on the basis of my claim. Please let me know your opinion on my case.

There is nothing stopping your parents from applying for you 2 years ago, before you turned 18, you would have qualified, as it would have been the case that you had spent 7 years in the UK.

Thanks for your time to reply. Indeed my parents were aware of the 7 year route however at the time my family applied through a solicitor who wanted to appeal our human rights claim at the upper tribunal instead of applying through the 7 year route for some odd reason and it still annoys me to this day to think why the solicitor did not apply for it, also my parents were unaware and thought she had applied through that route but later on we realize after a decision it was on human rights claim and at that time I turned 18 so could not apply.
