URGENT - Boarding Eurostar in Paris with copy of BRP

Hi all,

My fiancee forgot her residency card at home in London. She's from Indonesia, does not have a permanent residency in the UK, only her residence card. I've sent her a photo of it, hoping that she could get her details verified by the Immigration Officer at Gare du Norde prior to boarding.

Does anyone have any experience with this scenario? Will they allow her to board the train?

Ordinarily without seeing evidence of admissibility (i.e. the residence card) the carrier should refuse boarding as Indoneisans require visas and if she is refused entry they would be liable to a Carriers Liability charge.

However as you know, with Eurostar and juxtaposed controls, the UK Immigration has a presence in Paris and it should be possible for them to check that she holds a valid permit and allow her to travel. She'll have details of the card/number.

No experience of this myself, but I doubt it will prevent travel. Suggest she allows plenty of time for the checking though.
