No email from Sheffield

I am first time UK Visa applicant. I have submitted my tier 2 Visa documents & did the biometrics on 23 July at VFS in Dhaka, Bangladesh. On the same day I have received a SMS confirmation from VFS that my application has been forwarded to UKVI. However, I haven't received any email from Sheffield that they have received my documents and my application is under processing. Is it normal? Everyone receive confirmation email from Sheffield ? I also tried to check the Visa status from UKVI website. But the system can't recognize my confirmation number starts with GWF. Any suggestion will be really appreciated. Thanks

I got the email from Sheffield 11 days after I submitted my documents. Dont worry, your 15 working days havent lapsed yet.

My case was escalated on the 18th working day. Then they emailed me on the 24th working day asking for additional documents which I had submitted at vfs. They somehow lost them or something. They only asked for scanned copies, so I sent it right away. Got the decision the same day. My passport arrived on the 28th working day, with the vignette.

I applied on 26th July. Received an email from sheffield on 7th August saying that they have received my online application and is currently being prepared for consideration by an ECO. Haven't heard anything back after this. Rally strange as they say they process 90% non-settlement applications within 15 working days!

Afterr my 15th day lapsed, I emailed them and called them and just kept following up, eventually they said they escalated my case.

Well, in my case, I applied on 27th and got my passport back on 16th august, however, for my family, they still have not received it. The decision on all 3 applications were made on the same day (14th August) but they never send any email. I called them to escalate the case but they said, it is going to take 10 working days after the decision for the passports to come. No help at all in escalating the case, I wonder how people escalate the case??
