I am new here I have read the FAQs and pinned threads. I would like to ask some help about my current situation.
I am an EU citizen living in NL, and I have met my girlfriend here while she was on a short stay (2 months). Then she came again (still for less than 3 months, as that's the maximum allowed). Now, this is not reasonably enough to decide for marriage (or registered partnership) so that's off the chart.
What we have been thinking about is to apply for an MVV (form 7518) for non-married partnership, so that she could live here for longer than 3 months and look also into making a life together.
I have asked the IND about my situation, and they mentioned that I need to show proof of a long-lasting relationship that has been going on under the same roof for at least 6 months (although cannot find it on their official website).
Reading this thread was useful: europe-immigration-forum/nl-res-visa-fo ... 19235.html
I have tried to organise the doubts in this list:
- if I must go through MVV, how can one possibly live 6 consecutive months together if temporary permits are just of 3 months..?
- 2004/38/EC does not specify 6 months, is this arbitrary by the IND? that's why this website mentions it has been successfully appealed? http://www.iamexpat.nl/read-and-discuss ... etherlands
- can I also bypass the MVV and apply via 2004/38/EC as in the previous thread? if yes, can you explain how?
