Tier 2 ICT to Dependent of Tier 2 ICT to Tier 2 General

Post by Anushik » Thu Aug 03, 2017 7:41 am

I came to the UK on a tier 2 ICT visa on October 2016. This Visa is valid for 5 years, till 2021.
My husband also happens to be on a tier 2 ICT long-term visa, valid till 2019 July.
So, I was wondering, if I switch now to his dependent visa, can I be eligible for a tier 2 general visa? If yes, will the cool off period of 1 year apply to me, in a sense that I'll have to be on the dependent visa for at least a year before I make the move? However, I can spend the cool off period in UK, and will not have to leave the country for 1 year?
Any help on this matter will be highly appreciated.

Thats correct.
If you become his dependent, and stay as dependent for a year, then u can apply for tier 2 general.
To apply for teir 2 general after a year, u will have to go to home country to apply, rlmt will be applicable, and restricted cos will be required.
