requesting passport from HO

Hello
I applied for ILR SET (O) in June 2016 and I wish to request my passport back because i need it for an exam.
My question is this- can i get advise on if requesting a passport has any effect on the application? does it make it longer? its already been 14 months.
apologies if this question has already been answered. im new here and i cant seem to find the answer anywhere.
