Visitor Visa Cool off period/Re-entry

Hi All,

A quick question around visitor visa and cooling off period before re-entry. They applied for standard visitor visa and got a standard 6 month visit visa (multiple entry) from June 20, 2017 to 19th Dec, 2017.

They entered on 21st June and are leaving UK to return to India on Sept 13th, 2017 not utilizing the full 6 month visa.

The question I have is: Are they eligible to apply for visa and travel to UK again in January or February 2018 and what is the duration they can stay.

Please advise.

Visitors should not be spending more time in the UK within a 12 month rolling period than they are spending in their home country.
In this case, no more than 6 months in total from 21st June 2017 - 21st June 2018

Hi I have a similar case but in above example:

If the start date requested for new visitor visa is less than after 6 months of last day of stay in UK, visa will be rejected as for new visa they would assume you could stay for full 6 months?

So does this imply that new visa should only be requested after 6 months from last leaving the UK?

Please respond as I need to plan accordingly.
