PBS dependent visa extension

Post by adnirb » Fri Aug 11, 2017 6:21 pm

Hi all,

I'm applying for ILR come September and my partner will be applying to extend his Tier 2 dependent visa at the same time as he hasn't yet completed the 5 year qualifying period for indefinite leave.

As we're planning to book priority appointments, we'll be booking his appointment for the same day as mine, but a couple of hours later.

I just wanted some clarification as to how we should fill out his application form, as my application (and documents such as passport/BRP/bank statements) would probably still be undergoing processing when he would need to submit his own.

I assume we should select Tier 2 General leave to remain as the category that I've been last granted permission in, and proceed on the basis of that?

Will my Home Office reference be the one stated on the last letter I received from the Home Office, or should we select the Don't have a reference number option on the basis that I've since applied for ILR and haven't yet received an update?

And the last time my husband had to apply for an extension, he had to submit my passport and BRP along with his application, but as we won't have these back at this point (unless the PEO caseworkers are VERY speedy); would we just need to submit photocopies?

I have a separate savings account, the statements for which I'll be using as evidence of maintenance for him, but I am a bit confused about how to approach the passport and biometric card issue. There must be many applications like ours, so I'm guessing there is a process already in place for a situation like this
