ILR - BRP - Change of Appearance - Seeking Advice

Hi IB forum members,

I hope someone can kindly share their advice or opinion regarding my issue:

I have already been granted the ILR, but I have since had a change of appearance - specifically, I no longer where the scarf covering my head/hair. I recently went abroad and upon coming back was questioned by the immigration officer at Heathrow and she suggested I change my BRP as she cannot ascertain that I am the same person in the photo.

So how do I go about applying for a new BRP when it is not damaged/lost/stolen? I looked online, and it leads me to the Application for No Time Limit (NTL), but this will cost me £237 compared to applying for a BRP if it's lost/damaged - £56 .

Can someone help clarify please?

Its strange that Officer were trying to recognise you from the scarf ,Its mainly from face features like distance between eyes,nose,or lips.

In that case if someone has hair and shave them of later would need to get a new BRP.
You might wanna check with Home office by writing them .

Yes but while I do not think it matters, it does raise questions at immigration checkpoints. They also have the fingerprints of all 10 fingers and my face is exactly the same, with a cap or whatever adornment I wear. But to make it easy for everyone, I would just like to apply for a new one.

So if anyone can share on the correct route that I should go about, it will be highly appreciated.
