Visa fees

Post by Guccu » Tue Aug 15, 2017 8:49 am

Hi,

I am applying for PBS dependent (tier 2) visa as my current one expires at the end of August. My husband came on ILR from tier 2 in Sept 2016.

I complete 5 years as a resident in UK in Dec 2017, and intend to apply for ILR then.

As I will be reapplying for ILR in four months again, is there an option to apply for a shorter duration PBS dependent visa (e.g. 6 months) instead of the 3 years and therefore the health surcharge cost and possibly the application fee will be reduced?

Or if I pay full now for tier 2 application fee and health surcharge, is there an option to request partial refund when I apply for ILR in Dec (especially for health surcharge as I won't require this for 3 years)?

Any guidance on this matter will be much appreciated. Many thanks.
