Documents for Marriage Visa

Post by alely » Tue Aug 15, 2017 10:54 am

Hi

My partner has arrived in UK with a six month Fiancee visa so we are hopefully going to get married soon (going to the Registry Office tomorrow to book an appointment). My question is exactly what documents do we need to apply for a marriage visa. I understand the successful marriage visa lenght is two and half years. I know that we need to fill in an FLR (M) application form but what other documents do we need, please? Thank you.

Same as for the fiance visa but updated financial and accomodation proof. Also instead of intent to marry, a marriage certificate and perhaps a bill or two with your fiance's name at the same address as you.

Hi
Thanks for that. With regards to the address as I am the legal owner and I pay all the bills there are no items to her name. She has no bank account either I guess that would be next. We have given our notice our marriage now for that they asked for a letter from me to testify that she lives at the address and that our address is going to be our marital home. I wonder if that would do!? I have asked the council to put her name on the bill as a joint one hoping that would come through OK.

For the renewal of her FLR(M) 2.5 years after her first FLR(M), you will need to show 6 items of mail in joint names, so get her on a few bills!

At this stage, it isn't expected that she will have loads in her name, just show she is living with you. A bank statement would do. A council tax/ water/ GP letter would do too.
