Job offer and about to apply for spouse. What to do?

Post by pce950 » Mon Aug 21, 2017 8:39 am

Hi

I may get a job offer for a newer and better job in my career in about 4-5 weeks assuming interview goes well etc. I'm already earning above £18600 in my current job and will have been there for 6 months in 3 weeks. I am wanting to apply in 3 weeks or so via cat a. My notice period is 12 weeks(assuming I get the job).

I want to apply for my spouse quickly. If I apply in 3 or so weeks and get the job I will still be in my current job on my notice period whilst the visa is being processed. Would this be ok? Or do i wait another 4 or 5 months to apply via cat b once I start new job. Ideally I don't want to wait this long.

Am I ok to apply whilst in my current job, in the long notice period (assuming I get the job) as I am still likely to be in my current job during the visa processing period?

You are required to submit written confirmation from your employer on company letterhead of your employment terms and that this is continuing. If you have resigned from your job this won't be possible.

Also Case Workers often call the employer to confirm information given in the application.
