Hello everyone,
Figured my experience would be useful in some way to all the prospective T4 General applicants.
After having received offers from a bunch of Management schools and engineering schools I settled for the engineering MSc after much introspection on my future plans. I arranged all the documents necessary. Sought professional help from a reputed educational consultant and applied for the visa last week through the priority route as I was short on time. I included all documents as per UKVI checklist in the prescribed format. Only exception was the bank statement which bank didn't provide in a letter head but I used the passbook instead. Had a previous student visa refusal from Canada 3 years ago. Included that letter too. I'm self funding. Was a bit skeptical about the processing timeline due to the previous visa refusal, however it turned out fine as the processing was done in 2 days and I received the visa on the third day. My wife had also applied for a Tier4 visa separately just two days before I applied and both of us declared that the respective spouses will be traveling together in the additional information with the university details and separate undertaking attached with marriage certificate & pp copies. Didn't want to hide anything. The interview was fine. We both received our visas this week.
This forum has been really helpful with some really useful input. Kudos to the moderators. The doubts I had were cleared promptly. Fellow applicants, Please go by the book when it comes to visa application. Seek help from a professional consultant/this forum. Do not depend on hearsay and your intuition. Be super honest. Present the right docs. Have a good plan about your studies and what you intend to do afterwards. Prepare for the interview and be confident. Follow these steps and you will be fine.
Cheers..!
