Applying for a PhD and I am worried about the time limit

Post by jmins94 » Tue Aug 22, 2017 2:26 am

Hi so my background is

2006-2010 Tier 4 (Child)
2010-2012 Tier 4 (Child)
2012-2017 Tier 4 (General) MEng 2014-2015 withdrawn

Now I secured a PhD position which starts in October.
However, I have realised that there is 8 year time limit.
If I apply a visa for PhD, it will be 4 years long and then MEng 5 years + PhD 4 years = 9 Years, so my application will be refused.
However, some information specifies that MEng is not a proper research Master course so MEng is not included in the 8 year time limit.

I appreciate all comments.

PhD is Exempted from 8 years time limit, please refer to Tier 4 policy guidance for more information.
