Procedure to establish Ltd company to work as contractor??

Hi all
I come to know that I have to establish own limited company to work as contractor in UK. What is procedure for it?
Also another option to work as contractor is to work through management company if I dont have my own company.
Which is better option.
I believe that as HSMP holder its hard to get permanent job in first strock so I am trying for contract jobs.
Hope to get reply from experience members.
