I applied for a 5 year visitor visa to the UK, which I was granted. In my application I stated that I would be visiting my unwell grandparents who live in the UK, for 3.5 months (May, June, July and August). My initial ticket back home was booked for the beginning of August.
I then decided to visit Spain for holiday with family for 1 week and flew from the UK (which meant I had to extend my return ticket from the UK by 3 weeks, to the end of August).
When I returned from Spain last week, I stated that I would in the UK for 2 weeks before I flew back home. This would mean I would have been in the UK for a total of 105 days, from May, excluding the week I spent in Spain.
However, my grandparents health has been deteriorating and it is highly unlikely that I will get to see them anytime in the near future. I therefore wish to spend 1 - 2 more months with them before I leave.
Even if I stay 1 - 2 more months in the UK, I will still not breach the 180 day limit of visiting the UK. So my question is, do I need to inform (or request approval from) the Home Office about extending my stay, or am I fine to stay in the UK, so long as I don't exceed the 180 period?
Thanks in advance
